BLM Cleveland is actively supporting the following campaigns

Citizens For A Safer Cleveland
Real Accountability.
Real Investigations.
Real Justice.
Clevelanders deserve fair and independent investigations of police misconduct, and those investigations must result in real consequences for police that violate the law or their own department’s policies.
That’s why a diverse coalition of concerned organizations, activists, and individuals — with the leadership of families who have lost a loved one to police violence — are coming together to demand real justice and accountability for our families. Together, we are working to strengthen community oversight of the Cleveland Division of Police.

Tamir’s Campaign for Justice
In 2021, the quest for Justice for Tamir continues
Tamir Rice was only 12 years old when he was killed by Cleveland police in November 2014. The struggle to obtain justice for Tamir has been ongoing since that time. In November 2020 it was revealed that the Department of Justice denied requests to convene a grand jury and did not inform consul or the Rice family of the decision, and thus “running out the clock” on one line of justice. And so the struggle continues in 2021.

Clevelanders for Public Comment
An open and transparent government is critical to a robust and durable democracy.
We strongly believe that a public comment period will lead to a more engaged public and improved public policy outcomes in Cleveland.
This is an important, budget neutral reform to democratize the practices of City Council. Moreover, the adoption of a public comment period will better align us with other cities from Akron to Columbus in Ohio to larger cities nationally, including: Chicago, New York and Seattle.
